Bikôkô is one of the most promising emerging talents on the scene. Born and raised in Barcelona, she released her first project “Aura Aura” in 2021 - a self produced EP with influences from R&B and Neo Soul artists like Erykah Badu or D’Angelo, Tanzanian chants and West African rhythms. Following the success of this EP, in summer 2022 she dropped “No News Is Good News”, a three song mixtape that showed a darker and more mature side of the artists.
Thanks to the success of these projects, she’s been able to perform at some of the biggest festivals in Spain, such as Primavera Sound, MadCool and Covaleda. She has also worked with brands such as Loewe or Desigual, fronting some of their campaigns and performing at their events as a part of an ambassadorship plan, and has a great relationship with Nike: she was part of the last global campaign which focused on sustainability.
In 2023 she moved to London, where her sound started evolving after immersing herself in the local music scene. As a result, she came up with a unique fusion that mixes her love for West African percussion and electronic sounds. This new sound can be heard in her latest EP “Destiny”.
Bikôkô’s anticipated return this 2024 aligns with upcoming performances at world-leading festivals, including Primavera and Sónar. Several years in the making, A 1 IS BETTER THAN A 0 is due for release this October via Jamz Supernova’s Future Bounce label. We had the opportunity to listen to her first three singles from the EP, "JEALOUSY" "LA MANO," and “FORÇA” , which feature collaborations from all the cities where Bikôkô has lived, starting with the one in “LA MANO” with Crystal Murray, and spanish singers AMORE and Irene Garry in her latest single.
